It began as a simple class for some homeschool families.

In preparation for the ministry, Robert Hernandez learned Hebrew at San Jose State from a professor who was born and raised in Israel. 

While learning Hebrew, he was also given biblical insights that can only come when one reads the Hebrew.

Years later, some homeschool families asked him to teach them Hebrew. After looking for a beginning Hebrew workbook, Robert became frustrated at how every book spent very little time building a basic, solid foundation for reading Hebrew. So he put his own lessons together that both children and adults could use (the yougest to learn Hebrew using these lessons was 6 years old and the oldest was 86 years old).  

After he was done, Robert realized that these lessons could be combined into a workbook, so he went to work putting it together, designing the cover, and publishing it himself in October 2000.
